ALL You Who So Willingly Misquote the Constitution, The Founding Fathers Actually Did Not Wish Government to Determine What Happens Within the Walls Of the Church. However, they truly Valued the Christian Faith.
Concerning Christianity and the First Congress, read what David Barton of WallBuilders shares as part of our Nation's History: "The first Congress under the Constitution proposed a Bill of Rights on September 25, 1789. Foremost of these rights was the freedom of religion in the First Amendment. On that very same day, Congress also passed the Northwest Ordinance which said that, “civil and religious liberty…form the basis whereon these republics, their laws and constitutions, are erected” and that, “Religion, morality, and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools, and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.”[22]"
"This resolution was unanimously adopted, and President Washington issued a proclamation for the people of the United States to thank “the great Lord and Ruler of Nations” for enabling us “to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted.” He said it is “the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”[24]"
The Founders Were Quite Pleased to QUOTE BIBLE to Articulate Their Stand Concerning Matters That Guided This Country. David Barton, in WallBuilders writes... "In 1782, Congress acted the role of a Bible society by officially approving the printing and distribution of the “Bible of the Revolution,” an American translation prepared by Robert Aitken. In the same year that the Constitution was framed, 1787, Congress urged the people to thank God for providing us “the light of Gospel truth” and to ask Him to “raise up from among our youth–men eminent for virtue, learning, and piety, to His service in the Church and State; to cause virtue and true religion to flourish;…and to fill the world with His glory.” [25]"
Now Listen to This Amazing Speech offered by 81 Year Old, Dr. Benjamin Franklin, to a Frustrated Group of Delegates on June 28, 1787. Barton says "...The Constitutional Convention was on the verge of complete rupture..." He quotes Benjamin Franklin, to say "...In the beginning of the contest with Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayers in this room for Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a Superintending Providence in our favor….Have we now forgotten this powerful Friend? Or do we imagine we no longer need His assistance?

My Prayer today, is that Ronnie Reagan will come to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ, and will lead others to him, before it is too late. Let's continue to pray for the lost. Amen?
